We just finished a project with Metropolis and had a great experience. We decided to add on a master suite (~400 sq. ft.) to our existing home. We received quotes from multiple contractors and chose Metropolis because of their eye for design, competitive price and great attitude. The project was far from simple but Jonathan managed each step effectively and kept us informed throughout the whole process. His design aesthetic was a huge plus and something that we found lacking in other contractors. Our bathroom is absolutely beautiful and my favorite part of the addition. He recommended herringbone wall tile and patterned floor tile that made the bathroom Pinterest worthy! Also, he was always professional and was very accommodating at meeting with us at odd hours due to our work schedules. We also welcomed our first child in the middle of the project (!) and Jonathan and his crew were always respectful of our time and space once the baby was home. Jonathan is the best. Everyone warned me that home renovations would be difficult. I can say I had the opposite of that experience. We converted a 2 bd 1 bath house to 4/4. The entire scope of work was done with us living out of state. I rarely visited the home and Jonathan would send weekly updates. He stayed on schedule and on budget (even when lumber prices went up 4 times). He is honest, detailed, responsive, and extremely skilled architect and construction manager.
I would not have changed one thing on the home that he built. I would forever recommend his services.
We knew we wanted to work with Jonathan for our guest house project from the beginning. We interviewed a lot of other professionals, but they were either too “salesy, too expensive or didn’t inspired us enough confidence for the project. Jonathan was straight to the point, honest and very easy to communicate with.
Jonathan worked on the project, the approval process and took care of the construction for us. We never had to worry about anything and the job was completed on the time proposed, which I hear is very rare nowadays. The guest house looks great, as they took care of every detail for us and I had a great experience working with Jonathan and everyone at Metropolis overall. The only downside is that now I want to reform every single room of my home. 😉
We worked with Jonathan remodeling our kitchen, enclosing our patio, and transforming our current mudroom into a small, light-filled office. Although we were expecting COVID-related delays and inflation, the project was straightforward, and change orders were kept to a minimum and communicated clearly. They did not veer far from what we had prepared for. What we appreciated the most about working with Jonathan was his responsiveness and communication with us from beginning to end AND his wonderful team of subs. We credit the details of our custom kitchen to Sammy’s carpentry skills and Mauricio’s sanding and staining expertise. Overall, a great experience with Metropolis, and we would recommend Jonathan’s team to our friends looking to remodel their homes!
